100% Plant based natural cleaning

1. All Natural cleaning, and why I clean my entire home with Thieves!

If you know me well, you know I m passionate about chemical and toxin free cleaning… I have always strived (strived being the operative word) to clean our home with as least possible toxins, especially after having a tumour on my neck removed, skin cancer near my eye and a huge surprise pregnancy at 40! Typically I purchased cleaning products I thought were “safe and eco” because of the label and the way they were marketed, ironically not “safe, eco or clean” at all!

I also used make various complicated cleaning concoctions with vinegar in order to not use toxic cleaners around my children. (Not going to lie, it stank!!) And I will admit, I used to use harsh stain removers in the past before educating myself to do better. I found Young Living and I made the switch to Thieves, 100% Plant based. We use Thieves for every cleaner in our home. I cannot believe how well it works, how affordable the switch has been, how good it smells, and how easy it is! I am OBSESSED!!! 2. Why make the Switch?

After having a tumour from my neck removed, a skin cancer removed near my eye and after a surprise pregnancy at 40 I started to look more carefully into toxins and what they do to our bodies.

The Environmental Working Group, a non profit research organisation that uses the power of information to protect human health and environment, recently came out with a “cleaners hall of shame” list. The list includes common household cleaners, (even products marketed natural) showing compelling evidence that the ingredients can inflict serious harm and be detrimental to our health. Ingredients containing carcinogens, asthma instigators, and poisons.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health studied 2,983 ingredients in our products at home and found 884 toxic ingredients. 314 caused biological mutations, 218 caused reproductive problems, 146 (they knew) caused cancerous tumours, but were allowed in the United States, even though they were banned in other countries around the world. Twenty-six seconds after exposure, chemicals are found in measurable amounts in the human body. The average woman applies 300 chemicals a day to her body (80 before breakfast! )

The top 10 most dangerous chemicals in your home are: Air Fresheners (like plug ins or candles), Laundry Detergent, Chemical Cleaning Supplies (for your counters, floors, toilets, drain and oven cleaners), Furniture Polish, Dishwasher Soap, and Dish Soap

3. What happens to your body when it is chemically overloaded?

Most of us feel it as lethargy, inability to focus, sleep trouble, chronic inflammation, unexplained pain, fibromyalgia, skin issues, adult acne, hormone imbalance, hot flashes, stress, anxiety, and fear. If you face any of these issues, it’s time to kick chemicals out of your life. For me I have seen a significant positive change in my mental health, energy and skin!

4. What is Thieves?

Thieves essential oil is a blend of 5 powerful Young Living oils. It’s uplifting, and energising. And it is one of the most famous oils in all of Young Living. The Thieves blend contains Clove, Eucalyptus, Rosemary, Lemon, and Cinnamon. It’s based on the legend of the four thieves in Marseilles France, dating from the time of the outbreak of the Bubonic Plague. As history has it, the group allegedly confessed they used it with protection against the plague while they robbed the bodies of the dead.

10. DIY Stain Spray with Thieves

With busy and messy young kiddies I love having this spray on hand for quick application.

Fill a 500ml or 16 oz spray bottle with the following:

• 1/3 Thieves Dish Soap

• 1/3 Thieves Laundry Detergent

• 1/3 Distilled Water

• 2 drops of lemon or eucalyptus oil per ounce

• Apply to any stains and then wash as regular

17. Toilet Bowl Cleaner (Ditch the bleach!)

Mix all the ingredients below, then put into an empty Thieves dish soap bottle or any squirt bottle.

• 3/4 cup Baking Soda

• 3/4 Warm Water

• 1/4 Cup Castile Soap

• 1/4 Cup Vinegar

• 1/8 cup Hydrogen Peroxide

• 2 capfuls of Thieves Cleaner Concentrate

• 5 drops of essential oil of your choice for scent

• Shake well before each use

18. Thieves Wipes

2.6 qt airtight container, paper towels (or reusable paper towels).  Remove the inner cardboard roll. Mix together:

• 2 cups water

• 3 capfuls of Thieves Household Cleaner

• 10 drops Citrus Fresh Oil

• Pour half the mixture into an airtight container

• Add the towels and pour the remaining mixture over the tops

• Pull wipes from the middles to use

19. Jewellery Cleaner with Thieves

Mix in a shallow glass dish and add jewellery — let sit for ten minutes.

• 1 capful Thieves Cleaner

• 2 Tbs Water

20. Wood Furniture Cleaner with Thieves

Mix all ingredients into a 16 oz glass bottle then spray cleaner on cloth or directly on wood and polish.

• 1 capful Thieves Cleaner

• 1 cup olive oil

• Optional: 5 drops orange oil

21. Window and Glass Cleaner

Mix in glass spray bottle then use on mirrors, windows and other glass.

• 1/4 tsp Thieves Cleaner

• 16 oz Distilled Water

• 1 Tbs White Vinegar

• 3 drops Peppermint Oil

22. Fruit and Veggie Wash with Thieves Household Cleaner

• 3 cups of Water

• 1 capful Thieves Household Cleaner

• Let veggies and fruit sit in a bowl with mixture (or the sink for a big produce haul)

23.Thieves Foaming Hand Soap & Hand Purifier

In addition to the major players above I love having the Thieves foaming hand soap throughout the house at every sink and a hand purifier basically everywhere (i.e. in the car, pram, on the go!)  The instant foam of the hand soap makes it super easy to lather and rinse and my skin always feels so soft and never dried out.  As with everything in this line it’s formulated without sulfates, dyes, synthetic fragrances, or harsh chemicals.
