Do you ever feel like you have been in a battle? Everything is hard. Nothing goes right.
Please know this post is as much for me as it is for you. I hope it will encourage you in your journey today.
We/ I need to learn HOW to fight from a spiritual perspective.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12
When we feel the battle we need to know who the enemy is. So often our eyes get onto the wrong enemy. Maybe we had a fight with our husband (I know hard to believe…) but have we ever stopped to address the spirit of strife that seeks to bring division? Sickness has entered our family and immediately we look for a cause or for a root. But… have we addressed the spirit behind sickness.
When we know we have an enemy we know we are in a war. To win a war takes strategy. We get our strategy from prayer & God’s Word. BUT we allow HIM to fight on our behalf by trusting in His goodness towards us.
We live in a physical world but there are spiritual powers at play that seek to turn our eyes from Jesus. It would be naive and even a lie to believe that there is not a powerful darkness that seeks to devour BUT…….. what a truth that GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN ME THAN HE THAT IS IN THE WORLD!!!
Let’s make sure we know who we are fighting.
Have you seen the War Room? This is illustrated so beautifully. Fight on your knees & in your prayer closet. Clara the main character sets up her closet as her “War Room”. She understands the issue in her marriage isn’t her husband and she starts to teach Elizabeth how to fight through prayer.
I don’t have a closet but I do have a spot in my house where my “Prayer Chair” is. It is the place I designate to talk to the Lord, to pray, to read my Bible. Have you set up your Prayer Chair or War Room? This is the place where we go to FIGHT our battles and not each other.
How To Set Up Your PRAYER CHAIR?
- Note Book & Pen
- War Room materials that allow us to SPEAK God’s Word to our battles!
- Good light
- Free from distractions
Set up your Prayer Chair and start to talk to the Lord. Use the prayers from the movie.
War Room Prayers
In the War Room Elizabeth prayed such a powerful prayer…
Elizabeth’s War Room Prayer
I don’t know where you are, Devil, but I know you can hear me.
You have played with my mind and had your way long enough.
No more. You are done!
Jesus is the Lord of this house. And that means there’s no place for you here anymore.
So take your lies, your schemes and your accusations, and get out in Jesus’ name!
You can’t have my marriage.
You can’t have my daughter.
And you sure can’t have my man.
This house is under new management and that means you are out!
And another thing.
I am so sick of you stealing my joy, but that’s changing, too.
My joy doesn’t come from my friends. It doesn’t come from my job.
It doesn’t even come from my husband.
My joy is found in Jesus. And just in case you forgot, he has already defeated you.
So go back to Hell where you belong and leave my family alone.
Clara’s War Room Prayer
You’ve done it again, Lord. You’ve done it again. You are good and You are mighty and You are merciful!
And You keep taking care of me when I don’t deserve it.
Praise You, Jesus! You are Lord.
Give me another one, Lord. Guide me to who You want me to help.
Raise up more that will call upon Your name! Raise up those that love You and seek You and trust You!
Raise them up, Lord! Raise them up!
Lord, we need a generation of believers who are not ashamed of the gospel.
We need an army of believers, Lord, that hate to be lukewarm and will stand on Your word above all else.
Raise them up, Lord. Raise them up.
I pray for unity among those that love You. I pray that You open their eyes so that they can see Your truth, Lord.
I pray for Your hand of protection and guidance!
Raise up a generation, Lord, that will take light into this world.
That will not compromise when under pressure! That will not cower, Lord, when others fall away!
Raise them up, Lord, that they will proclaim that there is salvation in the name of Jesus Christ!
Raise up warriors, Lord, who will fight on their knees, who will worship You with their whole hearts, Lord.
Lord, call us to battle, that we may proclaim You King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
I pray these things with all my heart! Raise them up, Lord! Raise them up!
